The Foundation Series is for beginners who want to develop a strong foundation in photography. The stress is on understanding the basic concepts of digital photography and composition using the principles of design.
This workshop is geared to assist in developing the Photographer’s Skills – to be comfortable in handling the camera, understanding the basic concepts of digital photography and be able to apply basic composition techniques from creating a good photo.
Through our field trips and assignments, you’ll be able to put into action the technical and compositional concepts learnt in the classroom and get feedback on how to improve your photography.
The topics covered will be: Camera handling and operation; How the camera sees; Learning how to see, Focusing; Understanding and controlling exposure; Framing the image; Graphic and Photographic elements of composition; Principles of design; etc. (Technical 50% / Aesthetic 50%).

Sanjay Nanda is a graphic designer by profession and passionate about photography. Photography helps him release his intense creative urges and to communicate what he feels and sees. His experience as a visual designer helps him see beauty in mundane things. In his images he likes to use the interplay of light, textures, and colours to create unusual and complex forms that seduce the viewer. His select works are part of various private collections.
